Area Wide Protective, Inc. (AWP) is a provider of outsourced work zone safety services to utility customers throughout the Great Lakes, Mid-Atlantic and Southeast regions. AWP is the largest traffic control service provider in the eastern U.S., representing nearly every major utility from Michigan to Florida. The Company operates through regional offices, employs over 1000 associates (on an average daily basis), and owns or leases a fleet of 1500 vehicles. The Company’s services are governed by state DOT standards and are required in support of any utility repair, maintenance or construction activity that affects public roads. AWP provides full work zone design and execution services, including all required safety personnel and signaling equipment. The Company is a leading provider of these niche services in a highly fragmented market.
AWP has increased its market share in current geographies by gaining new customers, expanded geographic coverage to the west, while significantly decreasing customer concentration. AWP is introducing complementary services and entering adjacent markets to expand addressable markets.
