Blue Point Capital Partners Transaction Size & Type
History Transaction Size and Type Investment Interests Investment Principles Competitive Advantages Portfolio Companies
B lue Point seeks to invest $10 million to $50 million of equity capital in middle market companies generating revenue of $25 million to $250 million and earnings before interest and taxes greater than $5 million. Blue Point focuses on opportunities to make investments in situations that arise from:
  • Management-led buyouts of private companies or divisions of larger companies

  • Recapitalizations of closely held or family-owned companies that provide liquidity to the sellers while allowing for continuing ownership

  • Companies that need significant capital to fund internal growth or grow through completing add-on acquisitions

After an initial investment, Blue Point will also provide additional capital to companies to support organic growth or growth through acquisitions. Most of Blue Point's portfolio companies have made subsequent strategic acquisitions during our investment period.

If an investment opportunity requires significant capital above our typical investment size, Blue Point will, when appropriate, arrange co-investment capital from select limited partners and/or other established private equity relationships to meet these needs. Blue Point will also consider investing less than $10 million of equity in an initial investment when there is a clear strategy to deploy additional capital through internal expansion or add-on acquisitions.

Finally, Blue Point's straightforward approach enables us to close transactions generally on the terms under which we entered negotiations. We bring a sophisticated but practical group of due diligence professionals to expeditiously close every transaction. Blue Point's long-standing relationships with providers of debt capital and conservative use of leverage provide sellers with a high degree of certainty that their transaction will close.
